How long does a custom guard take?
A standard night or sports guard is ready in up to two weeks, and a rush guard in two to five days. We make both on our own 3D printer in our Buckhead office in Atlanta, so the timing doesn't depend on an outside lab.
What's the difference between a night guard and a sports guard?
A night guard is worn while you sleep so your upper and lower teeth meet the guard instead of each other. A sports guard is worn at practice and games to cushion your teeth from a hit. Our Atlanta team makes both from a scan of your teeth, at the same price.
Do I need to come in for a scan?
Yes. We make every guard from a scan of your teeth, taken at our Buckhead office in Atlanta. The scan takes about 30 minutes at most, and you pay for your guard at that visit.
Why does a flipper need a consult?
A flipper replaces a missing tooth, so Dr. Okhiria looks at the gap, your bite and your plans for an implant before we make one. After your consult at our Atlanta office, we print the flipper in about two to three days.
